About this Program

The Sustainable Urban Landscape Consortium develops experts in urban design and development capable of addressing environmental crises and climate change. The program integrates Green Infrastructure, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), landscape design, and sustainable development to create cities that genuinely serve both urban dwellers' quality of life and the ecosystem.

Program Highlights

  • Nature-Based Solutions — Moving beyond traditional landscaping toward "Green Infrastructure" design to tackle environmental crises, such as mitigating the Urban Heat Island effect and implementing sustainable water management.
  • Data-Driven Urban Design — Integrating Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data analytics as precision tools for urban landscape planning, ensuring green spaces truly serve both urban dwellers and the ecosystem.
  • Urban Resilience & Wellbeing — Focusing on research to build "Climate-Resilient Cities" that can adapt to Climate Change while enhancing community well-being through high-quality public spaces.
  • Collaborative Real-world Projects — Providing opportunities to engage in research and design with a network of partners across the public, private, and community sectors to drive policy and local development in Chiang Mai and beyond.
