Master of Science Program in Mental Health
What is this program about?
This program focuses on mental health and fundamental knowledge of psychology through an integrated learning approach from various disciplines, such as humanities and economics. Students will learn about the prevention of psychiatric disorders and how to support the mental well-being of individuals, families, and communities. They will also explore mental health issues related to society, culture, and governance, particularly within the context of Southeast Asia. Graduates will be equipped to understand and address mental health challenges, contributing to improving their own quality of life, as well as that of those around them, their communities, and society as a whole.

Thai students: 87,500 THB per semester > 350,000 THB per program
International students: 100,000 THB per semester > 400,000 THB per program
Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold at least one of the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.)
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Master of Science in Pharmacy (M.Sc. in Pharmacy)
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.S.)
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Psychology
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health
- Other related fields approved by the program’s academic committee
Minimum GPA requirements: Bachelor’s degree: 2.50 or higher or Master’s degree: 3.00 or higher
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency test scores:
- TOEFL iBT score of at least 69 or CBT of 193 or ITP of 523
- IELTS score of at least 5.5
- CMU TEGs of at least 65
- CU-TEP of at least 65
- TU-GET of at least 650 (65%)
- KU-EPT of at least 65 (65%)
- DynEd of at least 3.0 (CEFR = C1)
- CMU e-Grad of at least 90%
Other qualifications will be reviewed and decided by the program's academic committee. (The department will also require applicants to submit a Letter of Recommendation and a Statement of Purpose.)

Doctor's Degree
Doctor of Philosophy Program in Mental Health
What is this program about?
There are no coursework classes; the program consists entirely of research throughout the duration of the study.
Program Highlights
This program provides opportunities for teaching in the field of mental health and enhances research capabilities through a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning approach. Additionally, it emphasizes innovation, the application of digital technology in mental health, and the integration of holistic mental health care concepts and practices. The curriculum focuses on key mental health issues, including the prevention of depression and anxiety disorders, mental health policies and support systems, the exploration of new treatment approaches, and culturally informed interventions. Topics such as internal strengths, addressing inequalities, and incorporating a global perspective on mental health are also emphasized. Furthermore, the program expands its scope to include teletherapy and tele-mental health, facilitating remote or cross-border mental health care for professionals in the field.

Admission Requirements
• The eligibility of applicants is determined according to the announcement of Chiang Mai University regarding student admission for each academic year.
Applicants must have completed a Master's degree with a thesis or equivalent qualifications in the field of mental health or related fields, such as:
- Master of Science in Mental Health with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, or in cases of exceptional performance, no less than 3.00.
- Master of Arts in Mental Health with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, or in cases of exceptional performance, no less than 3.00.
- Postgraduate diploma in Psychiatry with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, or in cases of exceptional performance, no less than 3.00.
- Other qualifications in related fields approved by the program’s academic committee with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, or in cases of exceptional performance, no less than 3.00.
