    Chiang Mai University (CMU) is offering 60 Full Graduate Level Scholarships per year, an exciting opportunity to study at CMU for both Thai and international citizens who possess a high potential and who meet our requirements.

    Chiang Mai University has allocated an amount of budget to support graduate students to work as Teaching Assistants (TA's) and Research Assistants (RA's) for those who are applying to enroll in either regular or international master's degree or doctoral degree programs with doing thesis (master's thesis or doctoral thesis). The purposes of the scholarships are to:

  • Reduce workload of faculty members, the department or the faculty where affiliated

  • Enhance the ability of students in transferring knowledge

  • Provide students the experience in teaching and/or doing research

  • Provide financial support

    As Chiang Mai University has allocated the income budget For educational grants for graduate students in regular and international programs. That has a thesis or dissertation To motivate students with potential and good academic performance to study at Chiang Mai University. By working as a teaching assistant (TA: Teaching Assistant) or a research assistant (RA: Research Assistant) for the doctorate level, 50 scholarships/year and master's degree, 50 scholarships/year, since the study began in 2016 until the present.

    The Graduate School recognizes the importance and necessity of subsidizing scholarships in the form of teaching assistants (TA: Teaching Assistant) or research assistants (RA: Research Assistant) to support the academic production of faculty members and provide academic departments with participate in selecting scholarship recipients who meet their needs. Therefore, a project has been proposed to request budget support from Chiang Mai University to be allocated as a TA/RA scholarship for Active Recruitment at the doctoral level. There is an additional 50 scholarships/year and Chiang Mai University has allocated a budget to carry out 5 batches (academic year 2021-2025). The graduate scholarship administration committee has agreed to allocate a quota to the program so that scholarship recipients can be selected. Itself for the academic year 2021

    The Graduate School is proud to support and promote CMU's Graduate Students. It provides scholarships to further their studies, publish their research, and to attend training courses and various other forms of academic activities. The budget for these scholarships comes from the Graduate School Income, interest from the Graduate School Fund as well as other sources. These scholarships fall into three broad categories:
    1 ) Dissertation/Doctoral work
    2 ) Thesis/Master's Degree work
    3 ) Independent Study

    1. Support for graduate students To receive training courses from the Humanities Academic Service Center Faculty of Humanities Chiang Mai University (Humanities Academic Service Center: HAS Center) and is entitled to receive support not exceeding 3,000 baht (three thousand baht only) for graduate students with CMU-eTEGS exam scores as follows:
         1.) CMU-eTEGS exam score of 30 points or less than 40 points (for regular programs) and less than 45 points (for doctoral programs and international programs).
         2.) CMU-eTEGS exam scores of 40 points or less than 60 points (for regular programs) and less than 65 points (for doctoral programs and international programs). More details can be found at https://w3.grad.cmu.ac.th/foreign-language-condition
    2. Support for graduate students To receive training courses from the language institute Chiang Mai University (Language Institute: LICMU) and have the right to receive support not exceeding 3,000 baht (three thousand baht only)
    3. Support for graduate students To receive training courses from other institutions and have the right to receive support not exceeding 3,000 baht (three thousand baht only) (that can meet the conditions according to the Graduate School announcement Chiang Mai University regarding foreign language requirements for graduate students)


    Application Period
    For graduate students interested in applying for support, you can download the application documents in Word file format at http://www.grad.cmu.ac.th Fill in the details completely and submit the application along with supporting documents by uploading them at https://cmu.to/CMU-eTSGS66 or through the QR code at the end of this announcement, starting from the date of the announcement signature. The support application process will be divided into two periods as follows:
    From June 19, 2013, to September 30, 2023: 120 individuals.
    From October 1, 2023, to May 31, 2024: 280 individuals.

    The Graduate School will announce the list of individuals who have received support for the development of English language skills on the Graduate School website, http://www.grad.cmu.ac.th This applies to graduate students who have applied for training support in English language skills from the Humanities Academic Service Center, Faculty of Humanities, Chiang Mai University (HAS Center), or Language Institute (LICMU), or other institutes, as follows:
    Period 1: September 30, 2023
    Period 2: 1st week of every month
