Master of Science Program in Sports Science
What is this program about?
This field of study is related to the scientific principles associated with sports and exercise, integrating knowledge from various disciplines such as anatomy, physiology, medicine, nutrition, psychology, training principles, and business management. The aim is to apply this knowledge to sports, along with modern knowledge and technology, to improve and enhance athletes' performance, techniques, and management, as well as promoting physical exercise for health benefits for all genders and ages. Students will receive practical training alongside academic learning, enabling them to apply the knowledge in real-world situations.
Program Highlights
This curriculum focuses on providing advanced knowledge in sports science, enabling students to integrate expertise from various disciplines taught by professors from different faculties and departments. The aim is to integrate knowledge, research, or develop new innovations that can contribute to society.
Study Plans
The program offers 3 study plans:
- Plan 1 (only thesis): Year 2 - Thesis.
- Plan 2 (Coursework & Thesis): Year 1 - Coursework, Year 2 - Thesis work.
- Plan 3 (Coursework & IS - Independent Study): Year 1 - Coursework, Year 2 - Independent Study (IS).
The program duration is 2 years, with a maximum study period of 5 years.
Tuition Fees
Thai students: 35,000 THB per semester > 140,000 THB per program
International students: 70,000 THB per semester > 280,000 THB per program
Admission Requirements
Plan 1 (Plan A, Plan A1):
- Follows the Chiang Mai University announcement on student admissions for each academic year.
- Must hold at least a bachelor's degree in sports science, health science, public health, physical education, or related fields.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 at the undergraduate level, or if lower, must have research experience related to sports.
- Must be a sports professional or have experience in sports, such as a team manager, sports coach, or athlete, for at least 1 year.
- Other qualifications are at the discretion of the curriculum committee in the Department of Sports Science.
Plan 2 (Plan A, Plan A2)
- Follows the Chiang Mai University announcement on student admissions for each academic year.
- Must hold at least a bachelor's degree in health science, public health, physical education, etc.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 at the undergraduate level, or as approved by the curriculum committee.
- Must be a sports professional or have experience in sports, such as a team manager, sports coach, or athlete.
- Other qualifications are at the discretion of the curriculum committee in the Department of Sports Science.
Plan 3 (Plan B)
- Follows the Chiang Mai University announcement on student admissions for each academic year.
- Must hold at least a bachelor's degree in health science, public health, physical education, etc.
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 at the undergraduate level or have research experience related to sports.
- Other qualifications are at the discretion of the curriculum committee in the Department of Sports Science.
