MIdS CMU Signs Academic Cooperation MoU with Lamphun Province and Organizes AI Training for Provincial Government Agencies
On Friday, September 5, 2025, Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, held a signing ceremony for an Academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Green Skills between Lamphun Province and Chiang Mai University, along with an AI training workshop on the theme “Communicating Public Policy through Creative Digital Media” for personnel from Lamphun provincial government agencies and organizations.
The ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apichat Sopadang, Dean of MIdS CMU, who delivered the opening remarks and explained the objectives of the MoU. The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongko, M.D., President of Chiang Mai University, who expressed his congratulations and joined the signing, as well as Mr. Wiwat Inthraiwong, Governor of Lamphun, who introduced representatives from provincial government agencies. In addition, Dr. Kobkit Issaracheevawat, President of Chiang Mai Chamber of Commerce, also attended the signing ceremony, held at the Co-working Space, 3rd Floor, MIdS CMU.

The MoU aims to promote and enhance the capacity of Lamphun Province personnel in AI and Green Skills, while fostering collaboration in education, research, and innovation to support sustainable regional development. It seeks to create an ecosystem conducive to applying digital and AI technologies across the economy, society, environment, agriculture, and public administration, in alignment with Lamphun’s provincial development plan and the broader context of digital transformation and sustainable growth.

As part of the event, an AI training workshop was conducted on the theme “Communicating Public Policy through Creative Digital Media.” The training included:
Session 1: A lecture on “Conceptual Framework for Design and Communication” and content creation for public policy communication, delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Supparerk Potipairatana, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, CMU.
Sessions 2 & 3: Workshops on using Generative AI to create infographics, conducted by Mr. Natdanai Homkhong, CEO of Big Data Agency Co., Ltd. Participants created and presented their outputs and received feedback from experts and instructors. The workshop took place at Room 3-208, Building 3, MIdS CMU.
